MIDI IN TORONTO! October 22, 2008

Filed under: performance/events, FILM SCREENINGS — bling @ 6:11 am

So Dan Popa’s film MIDI had it’s International premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this past September and it was a hit! We still can’t believe that we got to see his film projected on 35mm on the huge screen at the AMC theater and we’re terribly happy that everyone came out to see it among the SHORT CUTS CANADA program. Some of our other favorites among this program were PASSAGE by Karl Lemieux, PASSAGES by Marie Josée Saint-Pierre and SUNDAY by JAMIE M. DAGG.
Here’s some photos (by KAROL PIVON) from the festivities…Enjoy!

AUTOPLAYBACK at the MAC! October 21, 2008

So as I’m sure you will notice, this post is a few weeks late! Never mind that! The important thing is that AUTO PLAYBACK was performed at the MAC here in Montreal! This performance marks yet another collaboration between Jérome Miniere and Dan Popa with astonishing results once again! After their performance at the SAT in Montreal and in Quebec City, the duo was asked to perform their two man show at the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montreal during the VENDREDIS NOCTURNES. If you missed this show then SHAME ON YOU….BUT….you will surely get the chance to see this again as Jérome and Dan are currently working on developing the show for some other interesting spaces in the future. Keep your eyes and ears open for more news on that! Here are some photos from the show at the MAC…enjoy!

Thanks to MEG FOX and her wonderful team we were able to participate in this beautiful Gala showcasing young musicians, painters and photographers. Our film was well received and we were glad to get some good feedback from those who attended the event. WIGGED OUT IN PURPLE April 28, 2008

Filed under: tit_bit, web work, performance/events, collaboration, VANDA — bling @ 12:40 pm

This, is a special post. Its about a special person, a dear friend, who has gone through an unbelievably arduous and trying journey: fighting cancer.

Now cancer free, and going through radiation treatment, my friend LISA POLITO, is organizing a fund-raiser for the Lymphoma Foundation.

“I try to be a resource of information. I write about my feelings and my thoughts in hopes that, I too, will get something from my own writings after reading it, over and over. ”

source

I’ve had the opportunity to work with her, and to contribute a little to her cause. She has started a blog, where she is generously sharing insights of her experience. She now has a site, where you can read info on her fund-raising plans. Please, take a minute to read up on all this, and pencil in this next event in your calendars:

TAVOLA GRANDE, a fund-raising lunchon,
on sunday may 25th, 12:00

at the Centre des Congrès Renaissance

If you, someone you know, your employer, anyone, would be interested in donating, please refer them to the site where they can get more information and find out how to contact the Wigged Out team, for a sponsor package.
